Payments Council of India appoints Vishwas Patel as its new chairman

The Payments Council of India (PCI) has announced the appointment of Vishwas Patel as its new Chairman. Patel, a Director at Infibeam Avenues, has been associated with the PCI since its inception in 2013 and was serving as its Co-Chairman. Patel replaces Naveen Surya, who has been elevated to the post of Chairman Emeritus. Prior to today's appointment, Patel founded CCAvenue.com payment gateway in the year 2001 and also launched other SaaS (Software as a service) solutions like ResAvenue.com and BillAvenue.com. PCI has also announced the appointment of Loney Antony, Managing Director, Hitachi Payment Services, as its new co-Chairman. Prior to co-founding Prizm Payments, now Hitachi Payment Services, Antony, a charted accountant by training, was the Managing Director of Euronet Worldwide Services India Pvt. Ltd. and NCR, India. The Payments Council of India was formed under the aegis of IAMAI (Internet & Mobile Association of India) in the year 2013 catering to the needs of the digital payment industry. The Council was formed inter-alia for the purposes of representing the various regulated non-banking payment industry players, to address and help resolve various industry level issues and barriers which require discussion and action.
