Over 1.21 billion enrolled onto Aadhaar, with 3.58 million in June 2018

As of June 2018, over 1.21 billion people had been enrolled onto the Aadhaar database in India with the help of 25,147 enrollment stations, according to data provided by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). On an average, 13.99 million Aadhaar numbers were generated or updated per month. Unsurprisingly the two most populous states, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra have completed the most number of Aadhaar enrollments so far; 202 million and 115 million Aadhaar respectively. On the basis of age, 72% of Aadhaar cards have been issued to people who are 18 years or above. The total number of authentications made via Aadhaar has been 20 billion so far. In June 2018, there were 859 million authentications were made, down 5% as compared to May 2018. Monthly authentication numbers have shown a decline and stood at its lowest for the month of June 2018. The number of Aadhaar updates climbed to 209 million up till now; 7 million updates were made in June 2018. The total number of eKYC transaction increased to 5.7 billion, out of which 3.8 billion took place in the last 12 months. Further, 211 million eKYC transactions were made in June 2018.
