Ad company Leo Burnett has promoted Saurabh Varma as CEO of south Asia, from his previous position as CEO of India, reports Exchange4media. Varma will now look after Leo Burnett’s agencies in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He will help in operations enhancement and driving business growth of the company. Varma also continues to be the chief strategy officer at Leo Burnett, a position he’s held for over 8 years. Prior to Leo Burnett, he worked as the director of engagement planning at The Greenhouse for over a year, as a senior account planning director at Publicis Ambience India for over 3 years, as a group account director at TBWA for over 3 years and as a group account manager at Euro RSCG for 2 years. According to the E4M report, Varma led Burnett to double the size of its Indigo Digital Consulting business and expand operations, while also launching Leo Experience across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. He was instrumental in Burnett partnering with AdCom in Pakistan. In June, Samir Ganghar, who worked as the the executive director at Leo Burnett, was promoted to North India president, where he’d lead Leo Group’s operations in North India in content, digital and experience and help in growing shopper, retail and e-commerce verticals.
