Snapdeal warns customers about scams on fake websites, WhatsApp messages, Facebook posts and pages

Snapdeal has warned its customers to beware of fake websites, SMS, messages on WhatsApp, Facebook posts & pages, and calls & emails from unknown people under its name. Some scamsters make fictitious offers to Snapdeal customers through various means, to defraud them by asking to pay money immediately before the offer or prize expires, Snapdeal said. Fictitious offers of cash prizes, cars, electronics, etc have been made under its name, and customers make payments to bank accounts controlled and misappropriated by scamsters who later abscond. Snapdeal clarified that it does not run any such schemes and offers and said they never call/SMS/WhatsApp/email anyone in this regard. Snapdeal has put out a list of advisory for its customers, and the same has been given below: Any communication that customers may receive in regards to offers and prizes is ALWAYS a fraud attempt that aims to spread disinformation to people. Never share any personal information like phone numbers, Aadhaar number and other personal ID details in response to any communication claiming to be from Snapdeal. Snapdeal never calls or messages to collect any such details. Never share any financial information like credit or debit card details, wallet details. Never share the CVV number of your card or any OTP that you may receive with regard to your cards or wallets.
