The Google News app is going bilingual. Users can simply choose to see the news in two languages, instead of one, on Android and iOS devices. For instance, India users can now access news in English along with 8 Indian languages such as Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Articles from local news outlets in both languages will show up alongside one another. This feature has rolled on the News app in 141 countries covering 41 languages. Google had also redesigned the Google News tab for desktop users in July, per TechCrunch. This feature organises articles in card-style layout and emphasises the news publishers' name. Last year, Google had integrated the AI technology with the News App that helps to select the stories as per the users' preferences and customises it. This feature was rolled out in 127 countries. Google had also integrated Google News into Google Assistant-enabled smartphone displays and home speakers.
