India Webportal Private Ltd (India.com) has turned profitable. The company, which also runs websites like BGR India and Cricket Country, among others, has reported a profit of Rs 2.6 crore, on revenues of Rs 64.5 crore for the financial year ended 31st March 2016 (FY16), according to the annual report filed by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL). India Webportal Private Ltd is a subsidiary of ZEEL, which owns 51% in the venture. The remaining 49% is owned by Penske Media corporation (previously Mail.com Media Corporation). During the year it also launched a data management platform iReach, and signed a multi-year deal with Taboola. The annual report makes no mention of Bollyvod.com, a joint venture between ZEEL subsidiary Asia Today and video service Voddler. The website for Bollyvod.com is no longer active. Senior leadership moves on The digital part of the Zee Entertainment has seen people moving on of late. Debashish Ghosh, CEO of Zee Digital Convergence, left to join LeEco as COO, followed later by Harini Calamur, who joined as head of original content. India.com CEO Sandeep Amar left to join Indian Express digital, after being appointed CEO in February 2016. History The joint venture between MMC and ZEEL had been inked in February 2010, while India Webportal had commenced operations in 2011. Apart from the generic horizontal portal India.com, it also runs a cars site OnCars.in, the Health Site, itripto, Cricket sites Cricket Country and Criclife, mobile gadget news site BGR India, education information site Prepsure, career counseling site Careerfundas.com and celebrity portal BollywoodLife.com.
