Craftsvilla appoints Manish Kalra as chief business officer

Manish karlaE-commerce firm Craftsvilla recently appointed Manish Kalra as its chief business officer, reports Livemint. Previously, Kalra was the director of integrated marketing at Amazon India; he handled the overall marketing section, building key Amazon brands such as Junglee.com and Kindle in the country. He also worked with MakeMyTrip where he actively managed teams, as well as crucial marketing roles. With his entry into Craftsvilla, Kalra shall play key a role in binding together critical growth functions including overall marketing, product, supply, category management and merchandising.

JS Deepak to replace Rakesh Garg as new DoT secretary

JS Deepak recently took charge as the Telecom Secretary, replacing Rakesh Garg, reports CNBC. Garg will be shifted to Minority Affairs Ministry, the report added. JS Deepak is a 1982 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, and will assume responsibility of monitoring the progress of the Digital India programme and check the problem of call drops. Deepak previously was the Secretary for the Department of Electronics and Information. Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said Deepak was his choice for Telecom Secretary as Garg had sought transfer to other ministry.

Mu Sigma assigns existing COO Ambiga Dhiraj as new CEO

Mu Sigma
has appointed Ambiga Dhiraj as their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Ambiga was formerly the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Mu Sigma; and for more than eight years, she led talent management, marketing and product development before assuming the role of COO in February 2012. In that role, she drove the company’s India operations and the global delivery of products and services to the market. Founder and former CEO, Dhiraj Rajaram, will continue in a full-time capacity with the company and remain as chairman.

Hopscotch.in hires multiple executives to lead their design and product

Hopscotch.in, a discovery-based e-Commerce portal for moms has appointed Shyam Seshadri, as Head of Engineering. Prior to Hopcotch, Shyam, alumni of the Indian School of Business, spent close to four years at Google, Mountain View. Hopscotch also appointed Nathan Stanton as Head of Design; he previously led the Product and UX at Minibar, New York. Two other additions to the team are Rachel Steinberg (previously Housing.com) as the Senior Product Manager and R.V. Krishna (previously Tiny Owl) as the Senior Product Designer.
