Jabong has appointed Jai Vohra to head women’s fashion at the platform, replacing Manjula Tiwari, reports ET Tech. He also heads Jabong’s sourcing business. Vohra previously worked as the director and business head for Jabong’s marketplace for 6 months, before which he was the director of projects for two years. Vohra worked as an associate at A T Kearney for almost 4 years and before that, he worked as the area sales manager at Tata Motors for about 3 years. Vohra told the publication that Jabong will focus on assortment expansion and build tie ups, also with international brands for expansion. His predecessor Tiwari will reportedly be joining the Future Group.
Flipkart has hired Sudhir Sitapati as an advisory member of the board for its commerce platform, reports ET. According to Sitapati’s LinkedIn profile, he currently works as the general manager of skin cleansing at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), while ET reports him to be the VP of consumer goods like tea, coffee and ice cream at HUL across South Asia and Africa. Sitapati will mentor and coach Flipkart’s marketing team. Flipkart is also reportedly looking for 3 other advisory board members with skills related to leadership strategy, tech and operations, to join the company over the coming year.
Snapdeal has appointed Dharmendra Panwar as VP of internal controls and risk assurance, reports ET. Panwar will identify risks and recommend solutions for improving Snapdeal’s current control environment after evaluating operational processes. He will also lead in formulating Snapdeal’s risk management framework to enable repeatable, reproducible, scalable and sustainable operations.
Panwar previously worked as the internal audit head at Max India and Fortis Healthcare for over 3 years and over 2 years respectively. Before that, he was the general manager for audit and compliance of information security at Bharti for almost 3 years and DGM of corporate audit group at Airtel for about 5.5 years. Panwar also worked as the manager for internal audit, north region at Airfreight Limited for 5 years.
OgilvyOne has appointed Namrata Balwani as its SVP and Delhi head, reports afaqs. Balwani replaces Sanjeev Jasani, who is reportedly joining Cheil India as its digital head. She was the CEO of Media2Win for about 5 months, before which she served as the COO of the same company for about 5 years. Balwani also served as the national business head at Media2Win for a little over 4 years. She had joined Media2Win from Group M’s Maxus, where she was the business group head for 3 years. Prior to Maxus, Balwani worked as a senior media planner at Contract Advertising for over 2.5 years.
