Fork Media launches in the UAE, to expand to Dubai, Indonesia and Singapore

forkmedialogoAntFarm* owned Fork Media, has launched in the UAE, and is looking to expand its operations to other emerging digital markets including Dubai, Indonesia and Singapore in the near future. The company has appointed Alex Pugnet, as the Director for its GCC operations.

Fork Media said it will offer two of its platforms, the native ad platform called Brand Press, and the image recognition and monetization platform (IMPULSE), to the Gulf market. According to the company, it has already roped in various publications in the GCC region like Elle Arabia, Sports 360, Motivate group and the Khaleej Times as its clients, and is in talks with other media houses.

Reliance Digital TV partners the Vedic Maths Forum of India


Reliance Digital TV has partnered with the Vedic Maths Forum of India, to provide mathematics education over television, reports the Hindu. The new channel, called “The World of Vedic Maths” will be viewable on channel #559 on Reliance DTH and is priced at Rs 112 for a pay-per-view five week subscription.

 Reliance mentions the content offered will total 16 hours, and will be spread across five weeks, covering 35 different topics in mathematics. The Vedic Maths Forum of India currently provides various tutorials on its website and also provides students and teachers certifications. The platform also partners Tata Sky to provide over 55 episodes over its platform.

JustEat.in updates Android app, introduces ‘haPPy hours’

Justeat LogoOnline food ordering portal JustEat.in, has introduced a new user interface for its Android app, along with a new ‘haPPy hour’ feature, that gives users discounts and deals when placing an order through the app between 4pm and 5pm from Monday to Thursday.

According to the company, the new app will give customers offers like flat 50% off or Rs 160 off on every order of Rs 300 among others. New features in the app include a method for users to view order history, search for specific items on the menu and filter various cuisines, among others. Currently, JustEat claims to serve in seven tier 1 cities, with over 2,800 partner restaurants, in the country.

BusinessWorld debuts augmented reality integration

BusinessworldFortnightly business magazine BusinessWorld has introduced augmented reality integration on its pages, reports exchange4media. The company tied up with the advertising platform Blippar to convert five pages of the November edition of its magazine to augmented reality compatible.

A user needs to download the app and use it to scan the AR compatible pages for the ‘augmented reality experience’. As of now, video interview of Rajan Anandan and Anant Agarwal, along with a few other pages have been made scannable. Businessworld currently claims to be the first magazine in India to introduce this feature, although print magazines Stardust and Filmfare had started offering augmented reality based interactive content, in April last year.
