Online travel site GoIbibo has tied-up with Sprylogics to integrate its travel booking and information services into the mobile local search app Poynt and its SDK. Goibibo will provide local travel content that will allow Poynt and Poynt-Enabled SDK users to book hotels and flight tickets, search and locate hotels near them and find flights without leaving the app. Poynt claims to have has been downloaded 25 million times across five platforms till now and claims it has 1.3 million active users. Sprylogics had acquired Poynt Inc the original maker of the app for 3.24 million in July 2013 and announced an SDK for its app in October last year, catering to mobile app developers, over-the-top messaging providers, and telecom carriers. The SDK was integrated into Nimbuzz messaging app last year allowing Nimbuzz users to search for local business listings, videos, movies, places and events from within the app and share the details with contacts without leaving a conversation. It is worth noting that Nimbuzz already has a tie-up with Cleartrip for booking tickets via the service. In February Sprylogics had also announced a tie-up with UK-based dating website cupid.com and parking information service Parkopedia for use of its Poynt SDK. As far as Goibibo is concerned, it competes against MakeMyTrip. Yatra and Cleartrip, among other players. So integration into such a service will help them get more eyeballs and bookings.
