Ronnie Screwvala's Unilazer Ventures is foraying into sports management with the launch of a new division called Unilazer Sports and has roped in Supratik Sen as the chief executive officer, reports IndianTelevision.com. The details on what Unilazer Sports intends to do is sparse at the moment, although the report says Sen will be responsible for creating IPs (Intellectual properties) and franchises in select two or three sports and focusing on managing teams, leagues and academies. Prior to this, Sen was serving as the national head for sports and events marketing at Red Bull India for almost five years. During his time at Red Bull India, he was involved in several sporting projects like Speed Link (Formula 1 show run at Bandra Worli Sea Link), Chris Pfeiffer India Tour 2010 (stunt biking event), Street Style (a freestyle football event), Chota Chaar Daud (mountain biking event), College Cricket & Campus Cricket among others. According to Sen's LinkedIn profile, he has also developed projects for several sportspersons including cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Deepak Chahar, and Varun Aaron, footballer Subrata Paul, chess player Tania Paul and base jumper Lt. Col. Satyendra Verma. Besides Red Bull, he's also had stints at Repucom, Procam International, Percept D Mark, Times FM and others and has more than 15 years experience in sports marketing and talent management. He was also a former national-level Rugby player and a professional club cricketer. Unilazer Ventures currently invests in areas like agriculture, e-commerce, education and micro housing among others. Its portfolio companies include online lingerie retailer Zivame, online grocery store Ekstop, e-commerce venture Valyoo Technologies and online employment marketplace OnContract among others.
