In time for the holiday season, Apple has introduced new iPads, refreshed its MacBook Pro lineup, launched Mac Pro apart from several software announcements, at a press conference in Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco (US). A quick lowdown on all the iOS announcements below: iPhone Sales: Apple CEO Tim Cook said they sold 9 million iPhones in its opening weekend, a number which was first disclosed by Apple last month. He also noted that more than 200 million devices were upgraded to iOS 7 in its first five days of launch last month and as of yesterday, more than 64% of iOS devices are running on the latest iOS version. In comparison, only 1.5% of Android devices currently run on the latest Android version, Android 4.3, which was released in July 2013. App Store Stats: There are more than one million apps on the App Store, of which 475,000 apps are specifically designed for iPad. The App Store has generated around 60 billion cumulative downloads until now, up from 50 billion downloads reported in May 2013. In comparison, Google had claimed to have more than one million apps in Play Store and generated more than 50 billion app installs as of July 2013.
