Sep 2010: Where’s The Money? Top Telecom Circles In India By Revenue

The Delhi circle generated the maximum revenue for Telecom Operators, for the three months ended September 2010. According to adjusted gross revenue information provided by Indian telecom operators to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (used for determining the license fee paid by each operator to the Indian Government), the Delhi circle generated Rs. 2419.62 crore, up 8.9% quarter on quarter. The Andhra Pradesh circle, at Rs. 2375.58 crore, was second, with revenues flat at just 0.3% higher. Maharashtra, at Rs. 2176.37 crore and Karnataka Rs.2089.56 crore also reported revenues high revenues. Operator Results: - Bharti Airtel had the highest adjusted gross revenue for the quarter ended September 30th 2010, at Rs. 9164.86 crore. However, its revenue fell by -1.66% QoQ. Airtel’s revenue marketshare was 31.77% - Vodafone held 21.36% share of the total revenue at Rs. 6161.09 crore, a QoQ rise of 21.36%. - Idea Cellular ranked third in terms of revenue, with a total of Rs. 3717.27 crore, -0.62% rise QoQ and a market share of 12.89% - Etisalat had the least amount of revenue for the quarter at Rs. 0.57 crore, negligible, considering other telecom operators. - Among New Telco's Uninor and MTS are doing the best, accounting for Rs. 148.09 crore and Rs. 149.61 crore respectively. Circle Results: Delhi:generated the maximum amount of gross revenue, at Rs. 2419.62 crore, 2.62% more than last quarter, claiming a 8.39% of total gross revenue.
