Anil Ambani's Reliance Big Entertainment (RBE) has inked a joint venture for an online animated series called Electric City, with Playtone, Tom Hanks' and Gary Goetzman’s production company. Electric City has been conceived and written by Tom Hanks, and is a show on the future of civilization, covering themes such as energy consumption, freedom of information, crime and punishment, and will be available online, as an online multiplayer social game, and a mobile application and mobisodes. Zapak, the gaming venture from Reliance Big Entertainment, will, looking for strategic partnerships globally for video distribution, social gaming and mobile applications. It will be co-produced by Joshua Feldman and Bo Stevenson. Playtone works on films, TV, and music, and produced films like That Things You Do, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Polar Express, Where the Wild Things Are, Mamma Mia!, Charlie Wilson’s War, as well as series like Band of Brothers. In Hollywood, Reliance BIG Pictures has partnered with Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider on the formation of DreamWorks Studios and according to a statement, has development deals with Nicolas Cage's Saturn Films, Jim Carrey's JC 23 Entertainment, George Clooney's Smokehouse Productions, Chris Columbus' 1492 Pictures, Tom Hanks’ Playtone Productions, Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment, Jay Roach's Everyman Pictures, Brett Ratner’s Rat Entertainment, Julia Roberts’ Red Om Films and Brian Gazer and Ron Howards' Imagine Entertainment.
