Telenor’s active Internet subscriber base stood at 26.3% of its connections for the quarter ended December 31, 2015 (Q4 2015), While the company hasn’t disclosed any specific number on Telenor’s active Internet base in the country, Telenor reports a total connection base of 42.6 million for the quarter. This translates to an Internet subscriber base of 11.07 million. The telecom operator had reported an Internet base of 8.99 million connections in the preceding quarter or 22% of its subscriber base. Note that Telenor mentions that the active connection base in India’s operations are more conservative than the rest of the group due to the high churn in the market. Subscriptions in India are considered active if there was activity in the last 30 days, whereas for the rest of the group active mobile internet users are subscriptions with at least 150 KB of data during the last three months. Financials Telenor group has reported total India revenues of NOK 1.436 billion (around Rs 1,138.76 crore as per current rates) for the quarter, registering a 20.98% increase from NOK 1.187 billion in the same quarter last year. On a sequential basis, revenues were up marginally by 3 % from NOK 1.411 billion. The company reported a positive EBITDA of NOK 41 million for the quarter. It had reported an EBITDA loss of NOK 58 million in the preceding quarter and loss of NOK 97 million in the same quarter last year.
