Sanjay Tambwekar has joined gift card & stored value solutions provider QwikCilver Solutions as its CTO. QwikCilver said that Tambwekar’s experience across technology practices would help QwikCilver to scale up their product platform suite and grow their enterprise architecture, e-commerce and m-commerce.
IIT Bombay alumnus Tambwekar has previously worked with NetApp (Director of Networked engineering) for over 7 years, with Sasken Communications (Director of Engineering) for over 8 years and Verifone for about 5 years. His experience includes dealing with systems software, storage and telecommunication among others spread across multiple functions of engineering, management, sales and marketing.
Earlier this year, QwikCilver raised $10 million from Singapore-based Amazon Asia Pacific and participation from existing investors Accel Partners and Helion Venture Partners. Amazon picked up a 15% stake in QwikCilver following this investment. QwikCilver had received a 5-year prepaid mobile wallet license from RBI in August 2013.
Set up in 2007, QwikCilver Solutions provides stored value card solutions to retail and corporate customers. It currently claims brands like Van Heusen, Shopper’s Stop, Peter England, Yahoo India, Nike, CCD, Levi’s, Microsoft among others as customers. QwikCilver provides gift, loyalty, discount, frequency, corporate campus and credit cards through its SaaS platform enabling a minimal upfront investment.
