Vodafone India appoints Naveen Chopra as COO

Naveen Chopra has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Vodafone India, and will take over from Sunil Sood, who was made CEO and MD of Vodafone India last month. Chopra was Director - Vodafone Business Services (VBS) at the company. He will take over as COO when from April 1, 2015, which is when Sood will take over from Marten Pieters as COO and MD. Chopra joined Vodafone (then Hutch) in November 2004 as Vice President – Corporate Marketing. In December 2006, Naveen was designated CEO of Vodafone India’s premier circle, Vodafone Mumbai. In June 2008 he took up the additional charge of Vodafone Rajasthan as well. Prior to Vodafone, he has with Britannia Industries for 16 years, where he last headed marketing for the company. Chopra's successor will be announced later. * Vodafone India recently announced its financials results, where it added 3 million 3G Internet connections for the quarter ended December 31, 2014, taking its total 3G connection base to a total of 16.6 million 3G connections. It has a Mobile Internet connection base of 59 million. More data here.
