There's a change at the top at Times Business Solutions, the online classifieds business of the Times of India group (BCCL): R. Sundar, the founding CEO of the company is moving within the group to the Response department, and Debashish Ghosh will be the new man at the helm, MediaNama has learned from reliable BCCL sources. Starting today, Ghosh will be CEO-designate, and will take full charge on the 1st of March 2012. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has been with the Times of India group for 16 years, and was, before this appointment, the Director Unified IT & Response at the group. He has also been the CTO at Times Internet Ltd*. Our Take: A change at TBSL the top might lend itself to a fresh approach to the online business classifieds segment in India, which hasn't seen much innovation over the past few years, and has primarily been seen as a feet-on-the-street kind of a corporate sales business - an offline business masquerading as an online one - and suffering for lack of significant competitive activity, especially in terms of technology and user experience. At the same time, large organizations tend to be vary of change, so don't hold your breath. P.s.: Ghosh on Twitter. *Disclosure: Times Internet Ltd is an advertiser with MediaNama
