For Airtel, one of the major telecom operators in India, Delhi had the maximum number of wireline subscribers with 1,059,684 for March 2011. A growth of 1.18% had been registered in the subscriber base in March 2011 from December 2011. Haryana had the minimum wirelne connections with 23,104. The top five states which include Delhi, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu account for 80.80% of the total wireline connection base.
