Kuldip Singh Appointed MTNL CMD Kuldip Singh (profile), Director (Technical) for government owned telecom operator MTNL, has been given the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director with effect from January 15, 2010. MTNLs previous Chairman and Managing Director R.S.P Sinha had resigned from office last week. Singh has more than 30 years of experience in computers and telecom, and has worked in VSNL and National Informatics Centre. He has worked in the licensing cell of Department of Telecommunications as Director VAS and was associated from the beginning in the introduction of Cellular mobile and other Value Added services in the country by the private sector. Singh has a challenging task ahead: MTNLs profits have been dipping. The company had reported a profit of Rs 205.84 million for the quarter ending September, 2009, 77.5 percent lower year on year. Revenue for the PSU was Rs 9720.59 million, 21 percent down year on year. MTNL and BSNL put together have a 85.67 percent share in the landline market but lost .38 million customers for the quarter ending September 2009. Tushar Shah Quits Mobile2Win, Joins Sony Tushar Shah, previously Executive Director of Telecom operations with Mobile2Win, has returned to Multi Screen Media (formerly Sony Entertainment Television) as Senior VP, Corporate Services, according toIndiantelevison.com.
