Congress party to reorganise its data analytics department

Congress’ interim President, Sonia Gandhi has approved a proposal to reorganise All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) data analytics department as AICC technology & data cell, according to a letter by AICC’s general secretary, KC Venugopal, dated September 3. Praveen Chakravarty, has been selected as the chairman of the new cell. https://twitter.com/INCSandesh/status/1169208229282189312?s=08 Here are the key responsibilities of the reorganised Data Cell: 1. Manage digital membership: The revamped cell will be responsible for Congress’ various technology initiatives including the digital membership process and development of appropriate system, Venugopal said. 2. Constituency-wise data analytics: The cell will also maintain constituency wise data and provide data analytics of the same. It will also maintain the central data base (CDB) of Congress’ party members, workers, influencers and various office bearers. 3. Effective communication between the party and its workers: Venugopal also said that the data cell will develop and maintain a suitable communication system to communicate regularly with party’s workers and the office bearers. The former data analytics department was headed by Chakravarty as well The former data analytics department of AICC engineered Congress’ campaign messaging for the 2019 general elections, according to a Hindustan Times report. The department came up with idea of going after the Rafale deal and also the NYAY initiative, the report says.
