JioFiber will cost between Rs 700 to Rs 10,000 per month, internet speed starting from 100 Mbps and going up to 1 Gbps, and rolls out on September 5, announced Mukesh Ambani at Reliance’s 42nd annual general meeting. Here’s all you need to know:

  • JioFiber plans will also be bundled with the OTT services.
  • Ambani said the company is announcing a disruptive service, called ‘Jio First Day First show’, wherein premium Jio customers will be able to watch a movie the same day it is released in theatre. This ‘disruption’ is coming in the middle of FY20.
  • JioFiber will come with a annual ‘Jio Forever’ plan, and the company will give away an HD or 4K LED television, and a 4K set-top box absolutely free. Jio set-top boxes will also have the option to make group video calls.
  • Jio now has 340 million subscribers, a little over the 331 subscribers in its annual report for 2018-19. 10 million subscribers have signed up every month, said Ambani. The default tariff for fixed line international calls will be 1/5th or 1/10th of industry tariffs.
