The Aadhaar and (Other Laws) Amendment Bill, 2019 is listed in the Lok Sabha today for consideration and passage. IT Minister RS Prasad will move the house to get the bill passed in the Lower House. The bill was introduced in Parliament once again on Monday, and will replace the Aadhaar ordinance. While introducing the bill on Monday, Prasad had said that "Aadhaar does not violate privacy and it is in national interest". Kerala MP NK Premachandran had opposed the bill's introduction, stating that it violated the SC's Aadhaar judgment, and the fundamental right to privacy.
