RS Prasad retains charge of MeitY, Law & Justice, and also gets Communications Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is once again taking charge of the Ministry of Electronics and IT and Ministry of Law and Justice, and is taking the additional responsibility of Ministry for Communications (Telecom) in the newly formed NDA government led by Narendra Modi. In the just concluded elections, he was elected as MP from the Lok Sabha constituency of Patna Sahib, Bihar. Prasad has been a Rajya Sabha MP starting 2012 until now, he first took charge of MeitY and Ministry of Law and Justice in May 2016, after MeitY was separated from the Ministry of Communications. Now both are under him. Under Prasad, MeitY formulated the Draft Personal Data Protection Bill, 2018 under Justice Srikrishna, and proposed changes to the Intermediary Liability Rules, 2011. Nirmala Sitharaman, Ministry of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman has returned to the Union Cabinet of the NDA government, as the finance minister this time. In the previous cabinet, she was the defence minister, becoming the second woman defence minister of India. She joined BJP in 2008. In June 2014, she became a member of Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh. She was elevated to the position of defence minister in September 2017. She has also served as a member of the National Commision for Women.
