Netflix's creative executive for India, Simran Sethi, is departing the company, reports the Hollywood Reporter, citing sources. Sethi is based out of Los Angeles and is reportedly departing the company instead of moving to India. According to the report, Netflix was looking to bring an executive to India to oversee day-to-day operations. Sethi's replacement will be filled by a Mumbai-based executive who will report to Bela Bajaria, VP for non-English TV originals. Sethi has overseen several originals for India including Ghoul, Delhi Crime, and Selection Day, among others. She had joined the company in August 2017 from Disney's Freeform. She had previously been with NBC, Happy Madison Productions, and Sony Pictures Television. Another Netflix executive for India, Swati Shetty, stepped down in December because she was based out of Los Angeles, and Netflix needed her role to be based in Mumbai. Shetty was head of content operations for India and had joined the company in August 2016. Netflix hires Rachel Whetstone joined Netflix as communications head in August from a prior role at Facebook. In April, Srishti Behl joined Netflix India as director of International Originals to build its originals portfolio in the country.
