Truecaller appoints Sandeep Patil as Managing Director for India

Truecaller has appointed former Flipkart executive Sandeep Patil as the Managing Director for its India operations, per a company statement. He will join the company starting May 28, 2019. He will head business strategy, and work on expanding users and revenue growth. He will oversee the company’s teams in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. Patil has been working with Flipkart for 4 years and served as the head of consumer and commercial lending since 2017.

Walmart appoints Suresh Kumar as Head of Technology and Development

Walmart has appointed former Google VP Suresh Kumar as CTO and CDO. Kumar has over 25 years of experience and had worked at Google, Amazon and Microsoft. Kumar will oversee the technology organizations for Walmart U.S/ WalmartLabs, Sam’s Club, International technology and Global Business services, reports The Economic Times.

Netflix India hires new Head of series for International Originals

Netflix India has hired Viacom 18’s Monika Shergill as the Head, Series for International Originals. She worked was VP and headed content at Viacom18 Digital for 3 years, and also headed a role at Star India for over 7 years. This role was previously held by Simran Sethi, who was based in Los Angeles and stepped down last week.

Ola Electric Mobility adds an independent director on its board

Ola Electric Mobility, the electric vehicle arm of Ola has appointed former Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin as an independent director on its board, reports TheNewsMinute. Sarin also serves as a board member at Cisco Systems, Accenture, PLC, and at Charles Schwab & Co.
