CEO of Network18 Digital Manish Maheshwari has joined Twitter India as managing director. Twitter's VP for APAC Maya Hari made the appointment public today. Maheshwari will lead strategy and execution, and will work on increasing user base and revenue in India, which Hari said is "one of our top markets worldwide". In a statement to MediaNama, Twitter said Maheshwari will be based out of Delhi and will oversee Twitter India's teams in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. He will start on April 29th and will report to Hari. He will work on audience engagement, partnerships with brands, agencies, and publishers. He's taking over the role from Balaji Krish who has been leading the Twitter India team in the interim for the past few months. Krish will return to Twitter headquarters in global headquarters to continue his role as global head of revenue strategy and operations. Maheshwari was heading Network18 Digital for three years since April 2016, where he looked after news properties MoneyControl, Firstpost, News18, CNBC-TV, CricketNext and In.com. He was earlier with Flipkart heading their merchant business and seller ecosystem. He has also been with Intuit, McKinsey & Company, and Procter & Gamble. Our focus in India will remain consistent and strong as ever. Twitter is here to serve the public conversation, be the destination for what’s happening, and the place where brands can launch and connect with audiences when they’re at their most receptive. — Maya Hari (@maya_hari) April 22, 2019 Also read, from February: Twitter to hire India…
