Tech manifestos 2019: Aam Aadmi Party says it has installed 1.4L CCTV cameras in Delhi for women’s safety

The Aam Aadmi Party released its manifesto last week; it has an overarching theme of the promise of full statehood for Delhi and elaborates on all the government can achieve with full statehood. A look at all the tech and digital related promises by the AAP in New Delhi: CCTV cameras for safety of women: The Delhi AAP government said it has installed 1.4 lakh CCTV cameras with 2000 cameras in each assembly constituency to make public spaces safer for women. It further said that project for installation of CCTVs, panic buttons and GPS tracking in all city buses is underway to ensure safety of women in public transport. Electric buses and electric vehicle policy: AAP said the Delhi government has committed to add 1000 electric buses to halt pollution and a progressive draft Electric Vehicle Policy has been brought that aims for 25% share of Electric Vehicles in all newly registered vehicles in Delhi within 5 years. If it comes back to power and achieves full statehood, it will undertake all infrastructure enhancements necessary to move Delhi's bus system to 100% electric buses. Transport: common mobility card: The AAP said its the first city in India to offer a Common Mobility Card, ONE card, for seamless travel in Delhi metro and all Delhi's buses. Entrepreneurship: AAP promises to establish Delhi as the hub for new-age digital skills and entrepreneurship through setting up of Knowledge Parks and 'Start Up Centers' for entrepreneurs to get financial assistance, skill trainings, and free…
