Eros Now now has 13 million paid subscribers for the quarter ended 31 December 2018, up from 10 million in the previous quarter. Paid subscribers have more than doubled from just 5 million subscribers a year ago. It also has 128 million registered users across 135 countries including in India.

Eros Now released 3 original productions this quarter – Smoke, Paisa Fek Tamasha Dekh, and Data Gone Wrong, with another 8 originals slated for release over the next 3-4 months. Eros Now drives subscriptions with partnerships with all three major Indian telcos Jio, Vodafone, Idea, and Airtel.

Eros International has appointed former ALT Balaji marketing head Manav Sethi as group chief marketing officer, as reported by Afaqs. The company confirmed Sethi’s appointment to MediaNama. Sethi will be based out of Mumbai and report to Eros executive chairman and group CEO Kishore Lulla. For Eros Digital’s marketing activities, he will report to Eros Digital CEO Rishika Lulla, adds the report.

  • In this quarter, Eros Now became available to Freesat customers across the UK for £5.99 per month, potentially reaching 2 million households.

The company reported consolidated operational profits of Rs 295.9 crore this quarter, a 52% YoY increase from Rs 193.5 crore in Q3FY18, owing to active pre-sales and catalogue monetization. Profits after tax amounted to Rs 62.1 crore, slightly lower year-on-year from Rs 67.1 crore in Q3FY19, and from Rs 77.3 crore in the preceding quarter.
