By Nikhil Cariappa Lenskart has appointed Oliver Kaye as its new COO and Chief Business Officer, according to a report by the Economic Times. Additionally, Dipti Tandon will also be joining as Chief Business Officer for Lenskart's online business. Kaye was the former CEO at Gap India. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has spent over 5 years at Tesco where he was the head of general merchandise strategy and implementation, and 2 years as country manager at Calvin Klein India. Tandon joins from Times Internet, where she was the business head of BaaziNow, a game show. Before that, she spent almost 6 years at Magicbricks.com, where she was responsible for product, data support and delivery functions. She is also the co-founder of online matrimony website Jeevansathi.com. Lenskart recently appointed Suruchi Maitra as the new head of human resources. Previously, Maitra worked with Exclusively.in, an e-commerce fashion site. She has previously spent 6 years at UnitedLex, and left the company as VP of HR. She has also spent over 7 years at IBM Daksh and 2 years at IBM India. According to Economic Times, Lenskart claims to have 460 stores across the country and is planning to open another 120-150 stores in a year. Recent investments Earlier this year in May, Lenskart invested $500,000 in ThinOptics, a lens making company Last September, Lenskart had invested $1 million in Ditto, a firm which designs 3D, virtual try-on frames and frame recommendation software
