HomeLane appoints Puneet Gupta as SVP of Engineering

HomeLane has appointed Puneet Gupta as its Senior Vice President of Engineering. According to the company’s statement, Gupta has 18 years of experience in software architecture, product management and engineering. He has previously worked with Ittiam, Texas Instruments, Centre for Automation Research and HRL Laboratories and has 11 patents. Gupta said that HomeLane will create an “AI foundation” for “data driven decisions” during its workflow. In June this year, HomeLane raised Rs 24 Crore from Brand Capital, the investment arm of Bennett, Coleman and Co Ltd (the Times Group) for national expansion and branding. At the time, the company said that it would double the number of “experience centres” in its existing markets by the end of this year, and achieve a Rs 200 crore run rate by March 2019. In February 2015, HomeLane raised $4.5 million from Sequoia Capital, with participation from Ranjan Pai and Mohandas Pai. In November 2017, HomeLane acquired online marketplace Capricoast for Rs 90 crore.
