ZEE5 to be available on NetRange’s smart TVs

A month after its global soft launch across 190+ countries, ZEE5 will be available on all NetRange’s Smart TV platforms. This will enable ZEE5 to reach a global audience.

NetRange is a Germany based white label smart TV and OTT ecosystem provider. It offers multiple services like UI design, payment, billing and customer management, content aggregation, global CDN etc for 100 global operators. It counts Vodafone, Grundig, Arcelik, TCL, Ikea, etc as clients. Its services are available throughout most regions in the world.

ZEE5 offers content in 12 languages – English, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Oriya, Bhojpuri, Gujarati and Punjabi. Zee5 joins a rapidly growing list of Indian streaming services which are available globally, including ALT Balaji, Hoichoi, EPIC On, Eros Now, etc.

Recent ZEE5 developments

  • In October, Zee appointed former Twitter India country manager Taranjeet Singh as chief revenue officer for Zee5.
  • In September, Zee hired Rajneel Kumar as head of expansion projects and head of products.
  • In August, Zee5 launched on Airtel TV as part of a deal, after pulling out of a deal with Jio because Jio did not give it the consumer analytics that it wanted.
  • Zee and Jio are in talks to revive the deal, the Economic Times reported last month.
