Industry moves in November 2018

Google cloud has appointed the former product chief at Oracle to replace the outgoing CEO Diane Greene. Thomas Kurian will come onboard on November 26 and take over in early 2019.

Yi Wang, the managing director of Oppo Mobiles’ in India has stepped down from his post. The company has not yet named a successor.

Dave Stephenson has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO) at Airbnb. He was previously with Amazon for 17 years. His exit follows the departure of Jason Warnick, who has been appointed CFO at online brokerage startup Robinhood. Airbnb had reportedly spent 10 months hunting for a new CFO. It is set for an IPO in the coming year.

Ayyappan R has moved to a new role at Myntra as the head of Category Management. He was senior director for the smartphone category at Flipkart. He will replace Ananya Tripathi who will be joining private equity firm KKR. She will remain at Myntra until the 10th of December.

Doodhwala has appointed Mohammed Aehthesham as its Chief Technology Officer. Before this, he was the Chief Architect for cloud platform at SAP Ariba. He has also been a Principal Engineer at Yahoo.

Japanese Investor, Softbank, has appointed Sumer Juneja as its India head. He is a former investment banker, turned Venture Capitalist. He has led investments in companies like Swiggy, Quikr, National Stock Exchange, and IndusInd Bank etc. He also sits on the board of directors at Swiggy.
