Shareit has appointed Karam Malhotra as its India CEO, after acquiring [in May 2018] FastFilmz, an OTT platform co-founded by Malhotra. Malhotra will focus on expanding within the Indian market, acquire more users and lead the India business.
Malhotra co-founded Greatest Common Factor, a video platform for test prep, in 2017, prior to which he co-founded FastFilmz in 2015. Before that, Malhotra worked at McKinsey and Co for nearly 7 years in different positions, and worked in business development and finance at Geine Technology.
About a year ago, SHAREit appointed Jason Wang as the Managing Director, India and Vice President for Emerging Market. Wang joined SHAREit in August 2017.
According to the press release, Shareit has recently tied up with Times Music, Speed Records, Comedy One and Juggarnaut for its content sharing platform.
