Raheel Khursheed, former head of Twitter News for India, has joined Snap Inc as India’s ‘country expert’. Khursheed announced that he would lead Snapchat’s market entry into the country. His role entails work on growth, partnerships, communications and policy strategy. He said Snapchat that had seen a 75 [unclear metric] growth year–on–year, and that 55% of its user base is female.

Khursheed joined Twitter as head of news for India & South East Asia in 2014, a role he continued at for over four years. He stepped down from the role in July this year. Before that, he was communications director of Change.org, India. He also held a role in Youth RAFT Project at Mercy Corps; and had been a senior correspondent at Times Now and at CNN-IBN.
