OYO has appointed Prasidha Menon as its new communications head for India and for other international markets. Menon was previously the head of PR for India and South Asia and product communications lead at Uber. In June, OYO appointed Rakesh Prusti as its new General Counsel. Oyo's international expansion In July, OYO Rooms ventured in Europe starting with London. In June, OYO commenced operations in China and with about 11,000 rooms in 26 cities including Hangzhou, Xian, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Xiamen and Kunming among others. London is the sixth overseas market for OYO, with services available in Nepal, Malaysia, Dubai, Thailand and China. The hotel brand and aggregator currently operates in 150 cities across India, China, Malaysia and Nepal. In September 2017, Chinese multi-brand hotel group China Lodging Group Limited invested $10 million in OYO as part of an MoU. OYO offers franchises as well as managed hotels in the country. The same month, the group raised $250 million (Rs 1600 crore) in a Series D funding round led by SoftBank through its SoftBank Vision Fund.
