Zomato Gold is now available in Jaipur; will expand to four more cities in June

Zomato has expanded its paid subscription product ‘Zomato Gold’ in Jaipur. Currently, users can avail Zomato Gold in about 120 restaurants like Fort – Zoya, Blackout, Jaipur Bar Stock Exchange, Jaipur Adda, Asteria etc, across the city.

The company said that it will next launch Zomato Gold in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Chennai in June.

The product is already available across Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad in India. The company said that Zomato Gold currently has over 300,000 members and over 2200 partners across existing cities (excluding Jaipur). The company said that through the launch in Jaipur and the other four cities, the program looks to add 700 more restaurants partners, bringing the overall count of total restaurant partners to 3000.

Outside India, Gold is available in the UAE, and Portugal as well. And, the company said that it will launch it in Australia, Philippines and Indonesia in this year.

Zomato Gold was launched in India in November 2017 and since then it was giving membership on flash-sale kind of model, where it was opening the purchase window at regular intervals but only for few hours every month. From last week of April, it switched to invite-only model.

Zomato Gold allows a customer, depending on the restaurant, a complimentary food item of the same or lower value as the food item ordered, or 2 complimentary drinks for every 2 drinks ordered. The complimentary drink will be the same as what has been ordered and is not applicable to pitchers, buckets and full bottles. The food offer is not valid on special menus, thalis, buffets and set menus. Note that there must be at least two people on the table to avail Gold benefits and that Zomato Gold is not valid on Valentine’s Day, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day. It’s also not valid for home delivery or takeaways, and cannot be clubbed with other discounts or offers.

Zomato’s other expansion

In a separate development, the company announced that it has expanded its online ordering and food delivery services to Lucknow and Ludhiana.  Zomato said that it has partnered with about 1000 restaurants across Lucknow and Ludhiana for food delivery service.

With the launch of services in these two cities Zomato’s online ordering services are now spread out across 17 cities in India, including – Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Kochi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Indore, Coimbatore, Vadodara, and Nagpur.
