Sports content mobile platform, Sports Flashes has raised Pre-Series A funding of $1 Million from US-based SRI Capital. Founded in 2016, the Sports Flashes app streams live Sports TV and Radio, scores, video clips, news and views, highlights, statistics, live updates, commentary and opinion etc across sports like cricket, Wrestling, Shooting, Badminton, Kabaddi, football, and others. The app presently offers the feed in 7 different languages- English, Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and Punjabi. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices. The company said that it has garnered 5 Million users so far. Previous Funding In August 2017, the company raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Times Group's Bennett, Coleman and Company Ltd (BCCL). Before that in April 2017, Sports Flashes secured angel funding from wrestler Sushil Kumar, and Global Edusports Ventures’ Sandeep Singh. Before a month of that, it had received angel funding from a clutch of investors including SEI India's Vineet Shrivastava, Advitya Dewan, Bajaj Motors' Vikas Bajaj, MyBox's Amit Kharbanda. Competition Note that popular sports are already being streamed by OTTs , for instance, Hotstar streams IPL 2018. In April, Star India said that nearly 371 million viewers tuned in to watch IPL between April 7 and 13 across its offerings: 288.4 million watched the tournament on its 10 TV channels and 82.4 million on Hotstar.
