Balaji Telefilms has appointed Sunil Lulla as its new Group CEO, effective from 25th May 2018. The company announced the development in its BSE filing. Lulla fills the vacancy almost after a year of Sameer Nair, who stepped down in July 2017. Lulla was till recently Chairman and Managing Director of an ad agency, Grey Group India, where he worked for three years. Before that, he has worked in leadership roles at various media and entertainment giants, including Bennett Coleman & Co (BCCL), Times Television Network, HMV (Now Saregama Ltd), Sony, indya.com, amongst others. According to Balaji's statement, he led the rollout of MTV in India, turned around entertainment channel SONY and launched the TV Network for Bennett Coleman & Co, The Times Television Network. He holds a degree in Commerce from Mumbai University and Master's degree in Management Studies from the S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research.
