Djubo, a cloud-based hotels solution provider, has partnered with TripAdvisor to improve the discovery of budget hotels on the latter’s platform. Djubo’s meta-search marketing tool called Fireball has been combined with TripAdvisor’s hotel price comparison tool and bidding platforms to offer budget hotels in India the option of directly displaying hotel offers to TripAdvisor users.
Djubo provides an app-based centralized reservation platform. It also offers mobile friendly website templates for hotels along with a booking engine and payment gateway and provides online channel management for automated integrations with multiple travel aggregators. It claims that it manages over 40,000 room nights and more than 10,000 guests per day.
TripAdvisor had first extended its Business Listings feature to Indian restaurants and property owners, which essentially allowed Indian hotels to get International exposure across all TripAdvisor-branded sites and consequently encouraged more direct bookings, back in April 2012. The Business Listings feature allows hotels to add direct contact information like website links, email addresses and phone numbers on their hotel listing page on the portal. Plus, the service also allow hotels to add special offers (if any) on these pages.
Note that back in August 2015, The Ibibo Group, which operates Goibibo.com, redBus.in, Yourbus and ibibo Ryde, had acquired a minority stake in Djubo for an undisclosed amount. Following the deal, Djubo’s product was integrated across all of Naspers’ and Ibibo’s travel portals. At the time, Djubo co-founder Tarun Gulati had told MediaNama that they’re “integrating our product with Ibibo group’s products. So both of us are working together. Even we’re offering to hotel integration with a Redbus, PayU Money, Ryde and all these group subsidiaries are going to be integrated to our product and empower hotels.”
TripAdvisor’s EazyDiner partnership
Earlier this year, in May, TripAdvisor had partnered with online restaurant booking platform EazyDiner to enable table reservation in 2,200 restaurants across India on its platform. Users can book a table by clicking on the ‘Reserve’ tab on TripAdvisor, and there is also a ‘call to action button’ for instant confirmation of the reservation. As part of the deal, on the EazyDiner app, users can also access reviews of various restaurants available on TripAdvisor, while deciding which restaurant to visit.
That’s not all: TripAdvisor-backed restaurant reservation app, Eatigo acquired Ressy to launch operations in India, starting with Mumbai and Pune, in July this year. Eatigo offers users up to 50% discount every day at restaurants booked via its app, which is applicable to every food item on the menu and can be booked sans any payment.
