Online home interior design and execution platform Livspace said that it will invest Rs 70 crore in its designers partnership initiatives. The company plans to invest across different segments, including onboarding & certifying freelance designers and studios, engagement programs, infrastructure & expansion across top metros to grow its network. Livspace’s partners will get access to its platform, which allows designers to design in 2D, 3D, Virtual Reality (VR), get business leads, do project management, execution, etc. The company said in a statement that, Livspace’s design partner community contribute to 80% revenue at Livspace. Livspace recently launched four flagship Design Centers in Bangalore, Delhi, Gurgaon and Mumbai, and said that it will invest Rs 25 crore to expand these design centers. The company currently has 11 centers in Delhi-NCR, Bangalore and Mumbai. These centers allow customers to get design consultation, experience interiors, select materials, visualize their home design through virtual reality (VR), and place an order. Founded in December 2014, Livspace raised Rs 100 crore (~$14.8 million) in a round of funding led by existing investor Bessemer Ventures Partners, with participation from Jungle Ventures and Helion. Before that, it raised $8 million in August 2015. The funding went into to hiring, upgrading to new design content and expansion to newer cities in India. It also raised $4.6 million in a series A round of funding to expand product catalogue and technology, at the time of launch.
