SEBI instructs crowdfunding platforms to include disclaimers on investments

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued another warning on crowdfunding, but this time it was directed at angel investor networks and start-up funding platforms, reports Mint. Read it here

Here are the implications on the RBI notification on MDR for govt transactions

There is some confusion for the government’s drive for increasing card transactions. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has instructed banks not to deduct MDR charges from government receipts and that they should remit the full amount paid to the government by card customers to the concerned government and ministry. BHIM saw 6.8M transactions in August 2017 accounting for 41% of UPI payments

The Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) UPI app saw transactions of 6.8 million for the month of August 107, and transactions worth Rs 1,898.6 crore. There were 16.6 million UPI transactions in August, with Rs 4,127 crore being transacted. Thus, BHIM processed 41% of all UPI transactions and accounted for 46% of the amount transacted in August. Ecommerce biz down 27% YoY for Gati; shifting to larger appliances

Cash on Delivery is now up to around 60% of ecommerce deliveries for logistics player Gati, up from 50% last quarter. While the effect of demonetization on the business has worn off, Bala Agnihotri, Deputy MD at Gati said on the earnings conference call, that there is a residual effect: “The COD residual effect of demonetization is the change of COD business that has come down. An indication of where Airtel wants to go with its business now, is possibly something it has announced this morning: a “strategic partnership” with SK Telecom, one of South Korea’s largest chaebols.
