Ecom Express appoints Mayank Gupta as its new CFO


E-commerce logistics solutions provider Ecom Express has appointed Mayank Gupta as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Gupta will be operating from the company’s headquarters at New Delhi, and will also report to Ecom Express’ founders and board.

In this new position, Gupta will oversee finance, accounts, legal, secretarial, commercial and administration functions. Before Ecom Express, Gupta served at General Electric group for over 14 years in different senior management roles. He began his career at Maruti Suzuki India Limited and has since served in numerous CFO positions.

The development comes at the time of festive season, which has boosted ecommerce transations in the country. Ecom Express’s clients include Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, Voonik, Rediff, Limeroad, Paytm- to name a few.

Funding: The hiring in senior management comes after Ecom Express raised Rs 192 crore from its existing investor Warburg Pincus, this month.

Founded in 2012 by former Blue Dart employees T A Krishnan, K Satyanarayana, Manju Dhawan and Sanjeev Saxena, the company claims to serve 17000 pin codes across 1600 cities, through 1740 delivery centres.

Ecom offers end-to-end  logistics solutions such as such as order fulfilment, reverse logistics, Ecom Network Services (ENS), cross-border services (EXS), Ecom Branded Services (EBS)  to e-commerce companies.  It also provides fulfillment solutions to its customers. In March, the company launched its 500,000 sq. ft. fullfillment centre ‘INDIA 1’ in Bilaspur, Haryana NCR region.
