We've confirmed over 120 attendees for our #NAMAprivacy conference on 'The Future of User Data in India', scheduled for the 6th of September 2017 in Delhi at the India Habitat Centre. MediaNama is hosting this session with support from Facebook, Google and Microsoft. Frankly, we've never had an event fill up this fast, and this is an indication of important and hot this topic is. Given limited space, we're moving further applications to attend to a waitlist, and will confirm remaining applications pending cancellations. Those waitlisted may be confirmed as late as next monday (4th of September), if there are cancellations then. This is a full day event, starting at 10AM on the 6th of September, and till 5pm. Apply for the waitlist here. Why are we hosting this discussion? Our discussion couldn't have been at a more opportune time: the Supreme Court verdict had given Indians a fundamental right to privacy, and the government has been asked to create a Privacy and Data Protection law. We have two processes already taking place: one, via a committee from MEITY, and the other from TRAI. Our objective is to ensure a diversity of views, so that every one learns from the others point of view. We've got a great mix of people from across industry, civil society, government, media, research organisations, industry associations and academia. Confirmations We've got attendees from: Adobe, Amber Health, Amazon, APCO Worldwide, Bank Bazaar, Bloomberg-Quint, Blume Ventures, Broadband India Forum, Business Standard, BuzzFeed News, CCOAI, CEIP, Chase…
