Flipkart has appointed Anil Goteti to head eBay India, reports the Economic Times which cited an internal email which was sent to employees. When reached out to Flipkart, a spokesperson declined to comment on the development. In June, Flipkart got approval from Competition Commission of India (CCI) for acquiring of eBay’s India business and the merger officially concluded last week. The report added that eBay India's current country manager Vidmay Naini will report to Goteti. He is currently is a vice president and head the marketplace. He is also responsible for pricing and promotions platforms. He is also responsible for profit and loss of the marketplace, product operations, and marketing. According to his LinkedIn profile, Goteti leads a team of over 100 product managers, marketers and operations managers. Goteti joined Flipkart in March 2012 as a director and prior to joining the company, he was a management consultant at McKinsey and Company. In January, Flipkart announced a top deck reshuffle and moved a group company structure. Accordingly, Tiger Global’s Kalyan Krishnamuthy has been appointed CEO of Flipkart while Binny Bansal will be the Group CEO. In April this year, the company raised $1.4 billion at a valuation of $11.6 billion from Tencent, eBay and Microsoft. Along with the investment, eBay sold its India unit for equity in the company. eBay.in continues to operate as an independent entity which is owned and operated by Flipkart.
