Amazon has signed a deal with Turner to stream Cartoon Network shows in India. Shows included in this deal include Ben 10 (Classic), Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Ben 10 Omniverse, Grim Adventures of Billy Mandy, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls (Classic), Kumbh Karan, Roll No. 21 and Dexter’s Laboratory. Cartoon Network has dropped off from the top 5 Kids' channels in India, according to rating data by the BARC. A deal with Prime Video may give its content newer audiences. The channel currently runs a mix of shows from Cartoon Network in the US, and some original Indian animated series. This is a significant deal for Amazon in its kids' catalogue — the marketplace giant has been acquiring shows in this genre since last year. It struck deals with Asahi TV for shows like Ninja Hattori and Doraemon, and also with Gold TV for Chhota Bheem. While Netflix's kids' catalogue in India is by no means short in quantity, there are few titles that have gained broadcast popularity already on Indian television. This week, Amazon also announced three new reality shows: Jestination Unknown, a travel comedy, The Remix, a music show, and Comic Kaun, a comedy talent hunt. "Customers globally have told us how much they enjoy reality shows like the Japanese Prime Video fan favourite, The Bachelor Japan," James Farrell, Prime Video's head of content for APAC said in a statement, adding that there was global consumer demand for such reality shows.
