BookMyShow looks like it is now getting into music services. It has launched a service called Jukebox where a user can download songs from a catalogue of 1 million songs but it is contingent on users booking a movie ticket through the app. When a user books a movie ticket, the will be given music credits in their account where they can redeem points and download songs.

The offer is available on Android version 5.2.2 and higher and iOS version 4.2.3 and higher and requires users to upgrade the app to get the service. The terms and conditions also mention that Limited Period Offer and are available only in select cities. One music credit will enable users to download one song, however, there is a launch offer where users can download five songs. Note that a minimum of 2 movie tickets needs to be purchased in order to avail free songs.

BookMyShow mentions that content is meant for personal consumption only and unauthorized copying, reproduction, hiring, lending, public performance, and broadcasting is prohibited.

Note that it is unclear what format users can download the songs and if they can be played in other music players or if the songs will have to be listened to on BookMyShow’s app only. It is also unclear if the company has partnered with other music labels and recording companies for the music catalogue. MediaNama has written to the company and will update once we hear from them.
