Amazon India and income tax e-filer ClearTax have tied up to offer the GST software to sellers on the platform to help them become complaint of all the new tax return norms. As a part of tie-up, both versions of software offered by the company i.e ClearTax Biz and ClearTax Biz+ will be available for free to the sellers for the first two months after sign up, and subsequently the software will be priced at a 30% discount. The software is an one-click solution that can be integrated with existing ERPs and allows sellers to file their returns via both online and offline utilities. Note CleartTax had launched the software earlier this week. The software provides GST compliant invoicing, helps in managing reconciliations and allows timely preparation of GST returns and efficient availing of input tax credit to help sellers manage cash flows positively. GST will be implemented from July 1. Currently, seller's file returns once per quarter, but under GST they will have to file three monthly returns - GSTR1, GSTR2, and GSTR3 – along with an annual return. Also, there will only be a 5-day window for reconciliation, making the most of it can make all the difference to availing seamless input tax credit. Competition Flipkart in February had said that it would be providing tools to its sellers to be GST compliant.
