Nishant Rao, Chief Operating Officer of FreshDesk has quit the company citing personal reasons and will be shifting base from Chennai to Delhi and will be supporting Sequoia Capital as Advisor, reports Economic Times. The report says that at FreshDesk, Rao was responsible for all the non-R&D aspects of the company's operations. Rao's LinkedIn profile also shows him as Board Advisor of Emiza Inc, New Delhi from March 2017. It is worth noting that Rao is also the present Chairman of Internet & Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and is on the Advisory Board for the National Committee on Skill Development, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Prior to his stint with FreshDesk, Rao was the Managing Director of LinkedIn from 2013-2015 and Director Business Operations of LinkedIn from 2011 - 2012. Rao was also on the board of TechCrunch India between May 2013 to June 2014. Other developments with FreshDesk In November 2016, Freshdesk had raised $55 million led by Sequoia Capital India with participation from Accel Partners. Fresh desk was to expand its entire product line where each product could become a standalone major business. The company has so far raised a $150.5 million. A month prior to that, the company had acquired Chatimity, a social chat platform used for integrating chats within mobile apps, for an undisclosed sum. In April 2016, the company also acquired Airwoot, a startup which offers brands social media support, for an undisclosed amount.
