Truecaller has appointed Tejinder Gill as head of India operations and VP of sales, reports Economic Times. Note that Gill joined Truecaller in September but it looks like he’ll be replacing Kari Krishnamurthy, who, according to the ET report, will be moving within Truecaller to Sweden. According to Crunchbase, Krishmamurthy was the VP of growth and partnerships of Asia, Middle East and Africa for Truecaller, based out of Gurgaon. Gill joins Truecaller from LinkedIn where he was national sales manager for 2 years and has also worked as regional account director and regional sales manager for a collective 9 years. Prior to that, Gill worked with Yahoo as senior account manager of online media sales, assistant manager at Times of India, assistant manager at Info Media India Ltd and in corporate sales at SAS International. In June, Truecaller appointed Arun Sarin to its advisory board. In August this year, Truecaller claimed that its 100 million Indian users were making over 500 million calls monthly through its app. It also claimed to have a database of 1.7 billion numbers from India and blocked over 120 million spam calls daily. In September, Truecaller tied up with MobiKwik to boost the latter’s sign ups.
